September 11, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish electric power transmission company TEIAŞ is planning to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, TEIAŞ chairman of board Mustafa Pustu said at the V Azerbaijani-Turkish Energy Forum in Baku.

He stressed that transmission of electric energy occupies a key place in ensuring economic growth, social well-being and national security.

"The energy transition, integration of renewable energy sources into the grid and development of interconnectors between countries already require an approach not only at the national but also at the regional level," Pustu said.

Pustu noted that TEIAŞ is responsible for the safe, high-quality and uninterrupted operation and development of Turkey's energy system.

"We attach great importance to the exchange of technical knowledge and experience with Azerenergy, development of joint projects and regional interconnectors. Our goal is not only to build new transmission lines, but also to create a regional energy infrastructure based on mutual trust and taking into account the strategic advantages of Turkey and Azerbaijan," he said.

Pustu stressed that TEIAŞ is ready to fulfill its obligations, work closely with Azerbaijani companies and contribute to the common energy vision of the two countries.
