New projects on electric communication with Turkey underway in Nakhchivan

September 11, Fineko/abc.az. Work on the design of a power transmission line from the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in the direction of Nakhchivan has been completed.

Baba Rzayev, the chairman of board at Azerenergy OJSC, made the relevant statement at the V Azerbaijani-Turkish Energy Forum in Baku.

He added that the territory designated for the construction of a converter substation in Nakhchivan was allotted to Azerenergy, which in the future will become one of the main elements of the direct electrical connection between Azerbaijan and Turkey: "Implementation of the energy component of the Trump Route for International Peace & Prosperity (TRIPP) will connect the main energy system of Azerbaijan with the energy system of Nakhchivan and form a link for development of an electric connection with Turkey. Our cooperation with Turkiye Elektrik Iletim A.Ş. (TEIAŞ) is not limited to the interconnector project only."
