Bank of Russia Holds Key Rate at 14% After 15 Months

16:44 - 11.09.2026

September 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Bank of Russia kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 14% on Friday, pausing its easing cycle for the first time since June 2025.

The decision reflects mounting inflationary pressures driven by fuel supply disruptions, refinery strikes, and heavy fiscal spending. With annual inflation accelerating to 6.3%, the central bank expects price growth to align with its 4% target only by 2027.

The next rate-setting meeting is scheduled for October 23.
